Apparently, Rush and Primus are both really good friends; Les played on Alex's solo album (Victor), and Alex interviewed Primus on a Primus concert DVD (It also sported a shot of Geddy and Les fishing).

Yea they are good friends.
I went backstage with a Tim Alexander and some friends
during the Counterparts tour.
Then went back to hang with Geddy, Alex and Tim after the show.
Neil invites Tim over for dinner whenever theyre in town.
