Even though I don't really want her for prez, It's gonna be Hillary. Sorry, all who are disgusted by a female leader and/or anyone who just hates a Clinton.
It is very unusual for either party to hold the presidency for more than two terms. Bush senior was elected after Reagan, but only because Reagan was so beloved by this country (not the press or Hollywood, but most of the rest of the country). The Republicans don't have that going for them this time. For them to win, they'll need to run a candidate who shines above the Democrat candidate.

And I want to go on record stating that my opposition to Hillary is based neither on her sex nor her last name (other than the known corruption associated with that name). It is based on policy. She is a socialist and I am a free-market capitalist. :) I would happily vote for a woman who shared my policy beliefs. Her skin color and religion wouldn't be an influencing factor either.

Socialists, even those who call themselves something else but whose policies are socialist, don't get my vote.

I'm not what you would call a "Hill Hater", BUT:

We know who REALLY called the shots in the Clinton years.

I'm just wracked with "Corruption" thoughts every time I hear the name.

not that it's NOT going on now....it IS....and that's why I'm
voting Independent.

and that god-awful CACKLE of hers.....uhhhuhhhuhh **shudders**

But hey, if she wins......we RIOT. hahaha

I was just kidding about Hillary being a shoe-in.
I still stick to this --> "It's Bush's fault. He was so blatant, arrogant, stupid and reckless with the way he "ran" his presidency that nearly everyone, even his own party, sees the Clinton years as less unlawful and more prosperous than they might actually have been."

But I probably use too much heart and not enough mind when debating these issues. I'm embarrassingly under qualified. I do better by learning from you lot. My outbursts come from a sincere place, though.

A lot of people feel the same way you do. Hence my statement above that if the Republicans want to win this time, their candidate is going to have to shine.

On the other hand, I see a mood in the country that wants some serious change. It's not just the last 7 years they're tired of... it's something closer to the last 19. The country doesn't want another Bush in the presidency, but I don't think it wants another Clinton either. That's just more of the same. That sentiment is what Obama is trying to take advantage of at the moment. "I'm not the same ol' same ol'! I'm young and new and fresh!" [Not a real quote obviously, but that's the current message he's putting out]

This election cycle has been, and I'm sure will continue to be, the most fascinating one of my lifetime so far.

It's also been quite a while since we (POSSIBLY, mind you)
could have another Democrat in office during a war.

But that's ANOTHER can o' worms.....LOL

For those who like to watch polls. If the election were held today (okay, day before yesterday)...
UTICA, New York - Illinois Sen. Barack Obama would defeat all five of the top Republicans in prospective general election contests, performing better than either of his two top rivals, a new Zogby telephone poll shows.

His margins of advantage range from a 4 percent edge over Arizona Sen. John McCain and a 5 percent edge over Arkansas? Mike Huckabee to an 18 percentage point lead over Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, the survey shows. Against New York?s Rudy Giuliani he leads by 9%, and against Fred Thompson of Tennessee he holds a 16 point edge.

Obama vs Romney, Obama leads 53%-35%
Obama vs Huckabee, Obama leads 47%-42%
Obama vs Giuliani, Obama leads 48%-39%
Obama vs McCain, Obama leads 47%-43%
Obama vs Thompson, Obama leads 52%-36%

Nope. That's not what the poll was about.

Oops.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Two black South Carolina ministers listed by Barack Obama's campaign as endorsing his White House bid say they did no such thing, and at least two others affirmed their support only after being contacted by campaign workers when questions were raised about their endorsements.

Earlier this month, Obama's campaign released a list of what it said were nearly 130 senior pastors in South Carolina endorsing his run for the Democratic nomination. But when contacted by The Associated Press, several ministers said they have yet to decide who will get their vote and were unclear how they ended up on the Illinois senator's list.

It's a big victory for him!
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A victorious Barack Obama portrayed his decisive first-place finish in the Iowa Democratic caucuses as a "defining moment" that he said would lead the way to change in Washington and an end to the war in Iraq.
It's only the first step in the race, but I think it means something important for him... basically that Edwards really isn't in the running anymore. The anti-Hillary Democrat votes will probably all be going to Obama now. That's my guess anyway.

And if Huckabee continues with the momentum he has now and wins the nomination... well, let's put it this way. If it comes down to a Huckabee vs Obama race in November, Obama will defeat him easily.

Wow... thought provoking statement there. I have no doubt that al-Qaida would want Hillary to be elected over the republican candidate (I haven't forgotten how they campaigned for Kerry in 2004). But then once she was in, they'd use that woman president thing to stir their own people up for more jihad, wouldn't they? We'd be an even worse "great satan" with a woman president.
Y'all are going on the assumption that Hillary is female.

LOL! Good one, Fearless Leader! :-D

Yesterday I saw a new campaign sticker on a car. It said, "Women for Obama." I guess the driver of that car is happy about yesterday's showing for Obama.
