Ohhhhh....OH OH!!!
Hairy is right...I was FREAKING OUT!!! Well, Xanny was stuck at the hotel because of a long check-in line (I felt terrible for her). After excited greetings and a big hug "hello" I gave her the ticket and said Hi to her puppy.
There was nothing left to do but go back into the venue, Xan agreed.
Yes, she made it but missed the first few songs. But she was SO happy to be up front like that or even just to BE there that it made ME happy.
Her dog is beautiful and so spooky cool (she can say more if she wants but I just LOVE him) and we walked him on 7th Avenue in front of the Garden at midnight after the show last night!
THE SHOW!!!!
THE SEATS WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF GEDDY?S KEYBOARDS!!!
Could I be ever happier, EVER?
After years of dreaming of something like this and knowing ?it?s now or never? and fighting my usual ?shy? attack?I ponied up all my courage and smiled confidently up at Geddy and sang every word, clapped, even air drummed and air bassed some and was rewarded with those kind eyes smiling right back at me while singing in that beautiful voice. *Thud* Plus seeing that lightning-fast bass playing right in front of me was more than I could stand. Also alternatively he jumped, skipped and spun around the stage like a 20-year-old kid. It was amayzing! bigeyes.gif jiggy.gif
Neil out did himself on the drums (if possible) and even though I still couldn?t see ?all? of him I could peek closer through his monster kit and marvel at what I saw and heard. What he does is simply NOT humanly possible and now I know for sure.
Al was mercurial and magical and some of his antics were so funny I almost fell over laughing.
His playing was fresh and energetic and he looked in fantastic shape. ?Hope? almost brought me to tears as it was even more beautiful than Scranton or PNC or even the CD and he evoked such emotion from the 12-string that I seriously had a lump in my throat. When he crossed over to "my" side of the stage during YYZ he smiled and "posed" for my cell camera with a hilarious look on his face. It just came out like a blob, though. All of my feeble attempts did. But the memory is etched forever.
The songs from S&A, again, were the most special for me and to hear them once again in their unique arrangements and to watch their faces as they played this new material?well, I will never, ever forget it.
