So, if there weren't KISS fans, I couldn't be? :(

But you said...

and I am not a KISS fan, so that means someone else has to be one if there can't be one without the other.

*hides from all the KISS fans that are gonna be aghast at my revelation* Don't hurt me!

I'm not much of a KISS fan anymore t. No need to hide, unless you have room for one more...hahaha

I AM STILL a Ace Frehley/Frehley's Comet fan though. I've always liked Ace's solos - as generic as they are.

Ace reminds me of Lerxst's stingy solos on the RUSH album.

IMHO, "Frehley's Comet" should be mandatory listening for all rock fans.

Could it be that Ace is a RUSH fan too? Oh, I think SO!

I still mark out for RUSH. RUSH has the most internet-savvy and (seemingly) underground
fan support network that KISS can't touch.

Sure, KISS sells the swag and pyros, and deals with personnel problems
- but RUSH delivers the goods with every album, every time.

Oh, that's something I hadn't thought of earlier. Rush is still the same three guys. Half of the crew are the same as 20 - 30 years ago, for Cliff's sake. This would certainly cause hoomans to feel more connected and have a greater sense of continuity than with our painted demon rockers.

BTW Sig, I was at the civic center in Baltimore for the Kiss 1976 tour and the 1977 tour, so you are not alone in "oldness."

Here's my favorite pic of Kiss

Suh-WEEET! Is that from the "Hotter then Hell" Tour?

The candleabra and red beacon lights used on "Firehouse" are cool memories! Paul Stanley playing his old Gibby Melody Maker...

One of my favorite pics as well!

Along with the one of Ace's Les Paul frying the neck pickup...they're classics!

(Interesting sidenote here...At our KA show, Ace's guitar burned so bad it
went out of tune in seconds and his "Burning solo" was crap from jump
street, but we threw horns up anyway. LMAO)

The one from KAII with them all raised on the platforms is good too.

Damned good question Hairy!

I know KISS sold out 5 straight shows in Budokan.

I doubt RUSH ever beat that record.

Hell, it may still be THE record!

I believe they had more in their RIO shows also, but I neither have that info, or want to go hunt it down.

Yes, very good question, Katie. Let me go and find out the answers and I'll bring 'em back to ya, (don'tchaknow.)

I remember back in the late 70s and early 80s when Rush would sell out the Capital Centre three nights in a row. Then 50 miles to Balto. and 2 or three more nights at the Civic Center, then on to the Spectrum in Philly for another stretch. Oh we were very lucky in those days to have money, transport and free time to catch every show on the east coast. I imagine that these 3 nighters would do well to close the gap in the crowd glut of Kiss tours. I imagine more people have seen Kiss than have seen Rush live, but I don't think it is a ginormous number.

Cool post BBO, and my rabid friends with no jobs would do the gypsy
trips to out-of-state shows.

I stayed around 'cuz I was slingin' pizzas then and had to work.

Hey, I found where RUSH has played over 5,000 shows....DAMN.

No numbers yet for KISS though, and no data for sellouts by either.

Any luck on your end?
