Post by awip2062 »

We have a Sprint Boat track Being built about a mile from my house. Anyone watch this sport? The National Finals are going to be held on this new course.

I guess the races are sprints since they're called sprint boats, eh?

If not, do they make sprint stops instead of pit stops?

Yeah it is supposed to be world class with seating for over 6,000 people and man has it got the greenies in an uproar because of how the stagnant water will attract mosquitos and all the pollution from the noise amd exhaust. I am surprised at others saying how they dislike it because it won't bring jobs to the area. Hunh? People coming here from across the US, Canada and who knows where else to see National Finals won't help with jobs? And there will be smaller races starting next year, too. While I won't say many new jobs will be created some have to be to run such events and what about all the money those tourists and racers bring to our town? I know when we go to tournaments for softball, money goes to those places, too!

Well, tell the greenies that with all the gas and oil that will be spilled in the water, the skeeter eggs won't be able to mature, and hence won't hatch. :-D Of course, complain is all the greenies really know how to do, so they will find something wrong. Heck, I bet they hate their mommies for throwing out their disposable diapers!

Seriously, there is a huge national following in this sport. it is going to be a huge shot in the arm for local service businesses . . . hotels, restaurants, other attractions. While it may not created much new industry, it will indeed have a positive impact in existing business.
