'sup Elfie? Good to see you're still around in here. It's like a crypt in here nowadays. I hope some of the longtime Rushians will get tired of FB's big brother-ing and come back.
Hey man, don't mean to stray off-topic (you know me ) but, do you know if Carvin makes a drop-in pickup package for a cheap little Squier Bullet Strat I picked up?

They sure do, with various pickups installed. My favorites are the AP11 single coils.CygnusX1 wrote:'sup Elfie? Good to see you're still around in here. It's like a crypt in here nowadays. I hope some of the longtime Rushians will get tired of FB's big brother-ing and come back.

I bought one of these for a Squier Stratocaster years ago. As I was installing it I remember thinking, "I sure hope I can hear a difference." When I plugged it in, not only could I hear a difference, I was blown away by it!

Last year I became a Les Paul guy myself. Scored this little beauty made in 2014. While every Carvin guitar I own is a superior build to this Les Paul, I still find it to be a heck of a lot of fun to play!CygnusX1 wrote:Thanks for the tip Elf. As you may (or may not) know, I'm a PRS/LP guy. I'm "testing the waters" with a Strat body guitar. I'm gonna rescue this one

I'm with you there. My PRS came with nice stock pups and it stayed fairly well-intonated and adjusted when I put heavier strings on it.
I can get lots of sweet tones out of it when played through the clean channel on my Fender 2x12 Amp, so I have a very limited pedalboard - and that's fine with me.
Congrats on your LP find, Elf. May it serve you well.

PRS makes excellent guitars, no doubt about it.CygnusX1 wrote:I'm with you there. My PRS came with nice stock pups and it stayed fairly well-intonated and adjusted when I put heavier strings on it.
