My son is jealous. Will you please report on it so I can read it to him? He loves such events.

I grew up on Air Force Bases..............................I miss all the air shows. Fairchild AFB here outside of Spokane is an old refueling wing, so no real airshows anymore. :(

Slaine, please get pix. :-D

Not that long been back and haven't had time to sort out the pictures yet but the three of us (Jess, James and myself - Mary didn't want to go so she stayed with her grandparents) had a great time.

The weather was absolutely scorching (my arms and chest got a bit burnt) but, due to an almost complete lack of cloud, it was perfect display weather. Among the attractions were the Utterly Butterly Wingwalkers, The Blue Eagles, RAF Falcons, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Eurofighter Typhoon (which is bloody loud), Tornado, Chinook and, the highlight of the day, The Red Arrows.

The official airshow website is here. Needless to say, we will be going again next year if it is remotely possible.

Here is the first batch (you'll have to bear with as we took 100+ photots - the wonder of digital cameras when you don't have to worry about how much film you have left). I'm doing them as thumbnail links - just click to see the full sized version.
