schu's pit-stop

Interestingly enough, I just saw a TV news story about pubs in the UK
losing business and shutting down because of new no-smoking laws.
Something just doesn't seem right about that.
I mean, pubs and the UK go together like fish and chips. It's like they're
turning into an endangered species or something. It's sad.

Don't start none...won't be none.
pubs are for sure losing out here...I remember going to pubs before the smoking ban and they were full...now..not so much..
also I've discovered with going to pubs like the Hard Rock Cafe...you go downstair to it and wow did smoking hide a lot of body odour smells...unfortunately they pubs stink now

I am going to venture out on a limb here.CygnusX1 wrote:Interestingly enough, I just saw a TV news story about pubs in the UK

Given the chance I could very easily see a room off off the pub to smoke. Allow me to explain.
If you isolate the room (pub, door, corridor, another door, room) from the rest of the pub and ventilate it properly this problem can be addressed.
Given that the majority of the pubs are in buildings older than St. Andrew's Golf course this would be an issue- hence being put outside.

I'll testify to that!schuette wrote: Scotland is built on pubs...there's one on nearly every

And they LOVE drinkin' Yanks under the table!
I was cheap entertainment in pubs more than once! hahaha
Damn, they had one game where you were forced to hold a full pint to the
ceiling with a pole while downing another pint.
Even if you lose - you WIN! hahaha
What's the deal with turning drink glasses over Schu?
One pub I went to, you drink your pint and turn your glass upside down...
I just went with the flow, but didn't know what it was all about.
(I assume it was to tell the bartender to pour you again)
Like I said, we Yanks are cheap entertainment for the blokes, but we
were brothers when they closed and we helped each other stagger home.
I always made it back in one piece, and I still thank my brothers and
sisters across the pond for the good times.
(((((Scots & Brits)))))
Don't start none...won't be none.
its more to prove that the glass is empty...CygnusX1 wrote:schuette wrote: Scotland is built on pubs...there's one on nearly every
