Ice Core Info

An article in
National Geographic has some interesting information on global climate change based on an ice core sample that reveals information going back 800,000 years.
In that amount of time the planet has been through 11 temperature cycles.
The coldest period occurred around 20,000 years ago, during the last glacial maximum, when the ice sheets were at their peak. It was about 10 degrees Celsius (18 degrees Fahrenheit) colder than today.
During the warmest period, around 130,000 years ago, it was a 4.5 degrees Celsius (8.1 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than today.

Hey, how are those wildfires affecting you guys Elf? We're watching and
praying they get 'em out for you all soon. 13 states with wildfires is NOT
a good start to the dry season.

The huge one in Utah isn't near me, so my family is fine. But I gotta tell you, our air quality is terrible. Most of that is coming from Idaho and California though.
A big rainstorm would sure be welcomed right about now.

I feel THAT Elf. We're in a drought with high heat and humidity.
Scorched earth, but in a different way.
Two of my neighbors have had to drill new wells.
We're not city
transplants, so we know better (than to waste well water).
We need rain as well. And LOTS of it.
hope it ends soon for ya Elf. Keep your fingers crossed.
