garrr !
So went to the doc today, have some mild shin splints, and they think it is because I apparently have very flat feet (never noticed really I've seen flatter.) one run with a friend with a short stride in summer caused all this mess and now that it is there it is persistent. Nothing too bad yet but I have to see a pedorthist for specials shoes/ inserts.... The real curiousity how did I not find this out earlier. I used to run ALOT when I fenced varsity and nothing bad ever happened.
But it begs the question, If I am flat footed, am I always denied my dexterity to armor class? One of life's important questions.

I run on me toes, been trying to fix it for 2 mo though and finally went to see a doctor. OTC is hopefully the solution zep, but i have insurance either way that will cover at least 1/2 the cost of whatever helps.awip2062 wrote:Bummer, Sir Dweebs. Forgive my ignorance, but, as one who runs on her toes even long distance, I wonder if a change in how you run might help as well?
Just keep in mind, a speedy fix ain't gonna happen. Much like planter fascaitis(sp), it will take a bit of time.
I wore inserts for a few years, then, as an act of hope, I bought a new pair of runners without inserts and tried them out. No more pain!
Don't expect a quick fix, but with patience, all should be fine.
