I recently put Atlas Shrugged on my iPod to listen to while at work Wednesday nights. Usually takes me about four hours to clean the office but with each of the eight or nine segments of the bok taking about six hours to listen to, I think I'm good for awhile!

M'kay. Just thought you'd dig reviving this thread and getting some new listening material. I have access to thousands of free ebooks and audio books.

Well.................................... I listened to The Vampire Lestat years ago and it was alright. I got a better read by eye on it, but it was nice to hear the French words pronounced correctly....Even though French sounds like choking.

Just never been big into them.

I got Bill O'Reilly's "Bold, Fresh Piece of Humanity" on audio CD.

Six disks, and O'Reilly does all of the "reading."

Like he says over and over, his life was no different than ours when he
was growing up.

The tales of his childhood are funny and bittersweet at the same time.

His Catholic school days cracked me up.

The great thing about this book is, it has nothing to do with what he's
admired (or hated) for.

It's just his life story.

Good "read!" :headbang:
Don't start none...won't be none.

From the dedication on, subtle jokes flow in an endless stream. George Carlin's voice is as lively in these recordings as it is in his live performances; he shifts speed, accent, tone, rhythm, and apparent intelligence level to match the barrage of humor. He's strongest when working a connected string of absurd ideas. Carlin's rants move through familiar topics (human stupidity, religion, language quirks, and more) to riffs on contemporary trends in politics, technology, and business. Six discs is far longer than the stand-up performances in which Carlin developed his edge.

Outlines what it takes to make chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons; suggests who might be able to produce and use such weapons; and examines how effective countermeasures might be.
