Man, if I could find a 4-pack of TrueBlood I'd buy it...Just for the
conversation it would generate! Can you imagine?

The vampires have to drink "TrueBlood" as a substitute for human blood-
so they can be part of human society without attacking them.
That's one of the coolest angles to the show, IMHO.
Some online images (Google: "TrueBlood Images") show regular people
holding 4-packs of it, like it's really for sale. Cool.
Don't start none...won't be none.

Hi RL! ((((RL))))
Oh the suspense was kiling us, but we got our fix.
I watched the last episode of season 1 last night. I expected more, but
how much can you cram in one hour? hahahaha
I know you read the books, but are you following the series too? The
season 1 finale episode showed Rene was killing the women, and he
would have killed Sookie too if Sam hadn't shape-shifted and attacked
Rene. He was choking Sookie and she fell unconcious, but Bill woke her
up telepathically.
She grabbed a nearby shovel (how convenient! hahaha) and killed Rene
with it while Sam was biting Rene. That Rene dude was a FREAK! We
THOUGHT there was something strange about that guy...
Jason found God after getting cleared of the murders and released form
jail, and Tara found a woman friend that APPEARS to be a shape-shifter.
She (the female shape-shifter) knows Sam and confronts him when she
picks up Tara at the bar, and then they show Sam cleaning a bunch of
money out of the safe at the bar. What's upwitdat?
Some unknown vampire killed Lafayette too! Hmmm...
The season 2 plot thickens!
I'm diggin' this show, but the wait until Summer for season 2 will be tough.
I'm turning some friends on to it, and now they're hooked too.
Wouldn't you like to try some "V?" I would. That would rule.
Don't start none...won't be none.
Ha ha. There are a few things different. Rene lives in the book and rots in jail. When I knew he was the killer, I wondered why they didn't kill him. Sookie kicks his butt in the book because she had the vampire blood when Bill gives her his or when LongShadow blew up and some of his blood went in her. It was only Bill who saves her in the book but hey I think they did well with the show.
I know about Lafayette. I won't say anymore because you'll like what happens in the next season.
Did they show more of the woman and the pig yet?

I love my Welshman.
Interesting! No, Sookie pretty much jammed the shovel in Rene's neck, rushlight wrote:Ha ha. There are a few things different. Rene lives in the book and rots in jail. so he's "dead" for now. hahahaha
In fact, Bill left his lair in broad daylight to help Sookie, and when Sookie
finished off Rene, she saw him burned up in the grass. Sam picked him
up and they put Bill in a open grave and covered him up.
He returns at the end of the episode and offers his V to Sookie to heal her
wounds from Rene, but she refuses and tells him she wants to feel "human" and heal naturally.
Was Longshadow the bartender at the vampire bar? I think he was the
Indian dude who Sookie found out was stealing money from the vampire
bar. Bill killed him (when the Indian lunged for Sookie because she knew
his thoughts) and Bill got sentenced by the vampire "Sherriff" to "turn
out" a girl to become a vampire. They buried Bill and the girl for five
days.
She comes back as a teenaged pain-in-the-ass for Bill. Bill and Sookie
hooked back up, and yes, the woman that's helping Tara is showing us
she's a shape-shifter. There's a pig in the yard sitting next to her, and
the woman was shifting back and forth rapidly...don't know what she's got
in store for Tara....
that's pretty much where it stands....
Don't start none...won't be none.
Sorry I haven't been on. My computer blew a fuse but it's better now.
Longshadow is the vampire bartender and he does attack Sookie when she finds out he's stealing. In the book, Eric stakes him.
I didn't see the show because I thought I didn't have HBO. For some reason, I started seeing a few shows, including TrueBlood, appear on channel 14. Because the show was nearing the end, I decided to wait until maybe the dvd comes out.
The lady with the pig has a strange name in the book. She isn't a shapeshifter though. It's a bit tricky to explain so wait till season 2. I think you are going to like her.

out. Seems that the series is almost in line with the books from what
you say, but not totally.
Taping of season 2 starts in January, but no new episodes until late
Spring/Summer of '09. GAH!
