I get pissed off with it over here. Too many people use the Yanks as an easy scapegoat for their political ills. They appear to be under the impression that they can slag off Americans with impunity and that there will never ever be any comeback for this behaviour.
This does not sit or bode well with me personally......too many individuals that I have come across criticise the US endlessly about US foreign and aid policies and yet, the same complainants, never ever have any alternative solutions to the problems involved. They will be the first to demand screaming on their bloody knees for protection by the US of their f@@ckin human rights when it all goes pear-shaped.
Maybe what I'm trying to say is.....there is a bigger picture with a modication of understanding required !
I stand, tonight, one moody Scots bazza pissed off with some of my bleedin heart liberalist UK countryfolk. Please forgive me
I think humans too often look for easy scapegoats to point fingers at when there are complicated situations and troubles abounding. It is easy to point our fingers and feel like we are doing something when we are doing nothing.

Not to mention another Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I don't have faith in faith, I don't believe in belief, You can call me faithless, I still cling to hope, And I believe in love, And that's faith enough for me... Neil Peart
The thing that bugs me is that people will assume what I believe and how I have been educated or will act simply because I am from the USA.
*sigh*
Not that I don't stereo-type too. BUT...I don't harrass people on the street about it and I know of many Americans who have been in Europe and been yelled at as they walked down the street.
The sentiment is appreciated, Rocinante. I think that, sadly, you may be in a global minority at this point in history.
We, the people of the United States are pretty cool as a whole, with exceptions, of course. Our problem has been "Those That Know What's Best For Us." And although we place those leaders in their mansion, it seems that once they get going, there's no stopping them or changing their courses.
Perhaps our credibility and worldwide reputation can soon be restored to its former position.
But everyone I know is just trying to make it through life. Just trying their best to deal with good times and bad like anyone else.
It's the few that are making the many look like so little.
I didn't read any of the above yet but just regarding the topic my comment is yes' probably so, now that's a contradiction in and of itself nevertheless I would fight for my freedom if need be. I have some negative opinions too as to the way things come about, namely wars, starving people, gov waste etc... I could really go on and on.
If there wasn't ever any wars...
we would of have probably already used up many, if not all of the planets resources. I did do the math regarding wars and genocide and the numbers are sad and if you took that and multiply it over several generations it becomes mind boggling. That's something that a lot of people just don't think about and probably not a popular subject either. It causes me to ask more questions ,as to why do our gov.'s start wars? Is it totaly because of oil or maybe they are reducing the heard? Why didn't they do more about Dafur, they knew about it for years? I am sorry but it
is really sad and there are better ways I may be right I may be wrong but it's not just!
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.
sanitation would be a problem creating more problems with infectious diseases
time to go home later

Not a good deal no matter which way it goes.
Actually, If each person in the world were able to stand on one square foot of land, we would barely fill up Tallahassee Florida with only a little spilled over!

Or if we were to house the Earth's population in four-plexes, we could do it on a piece of land the size of Texas. Or so I've been told...
